Christophe DERING

Expert in wildlife conservation and management

Christophe is a French expert, born and resident in Senegal, with 10 years of professional experience in ecological monitoring and wildlife management in Africa. He studied in South Africa at the University of Stellenbosch where he obtained his MBA in Development and Environment, specializing in wildlife conservation, forest management, ecotourism, training of field guides, anti-poaching and sustainable development. After that and several years as a Ranger in charge of the protection and conservation of South African parks, he became manager of the Bandia Wildlife Reserve (Senegal).

Because of his recognized skills, since 2020 he has been supporting the Oryx teams as a specialist in mammals and reptiles. He is thus in charge of field inventories and genetic studies concerning great apes, within the framework of compensation programs to be set up on mining projects in particular.
