Expert in biodiversity - Ecologist

Mr. Ledauphin has more than 30 years of experience in protected areas and environmental management and governance (1990-2021). An ecologist and geographer by training, he has held various positions during his career: expert in biodiversity project evaluation, senior technical advisor on various projects related to biodiversity, protected areas and natural parks, technical advisor on anti-poaching, conservation project manager, wildlife specialist, etc.  He has worked in many African countries, accumulating more than 30 missions on the continent. Rémy has worked on protected areas in the DRC, Benin, Senegal, Chad, Togo and Zimbabwe. (non exhaustive list) As a consultant, he has also carried out missions throughout the continent, notably as a member of the IUCN "Protected Areas" group.

Rémy has advanced expertise in sectoral diagnostics around protected areas, feasibility studies and management plan designs, project assessments, impact studies, protected area monitoring, ecological monitoring and community-based natural resource management.  His strong skills in protected area planning, management and development, as well as in conservation project management and monitoring and evaluation will be an asset to the project. He will support the Oryx teams in the framework of our Protected Areas monitoring activities or in the implementation of community conservation areas linked to the compensation programs of infrastructure projects.
