Project summary

Analysis of documents and environmental studies conducted on the Seguela Gold Project (RCI), in order to identify potential gaps according to the IFC performance standards, and particularly with regard to Performance Standard No. 6 (PS6) which defines the notion of "critical habitat" with regard to biodiversity issues. The study consisted in defining the mapping of sites classified for their biodiversity value in the project area; characterizing the qualitative and quantitative level of baseline studies related to biodiversity and defining the gap; listing priority species for conservation; identifying the possible need for additional studies and their dimensioning; Evaluate the potential for triggering critical habitat for the selected species; materialize the potential of natural habitats and their characteristics; classify all recommendations related to biodiversity conservation in order to comply with the NP6-IFC.
