Expert in environmental and social safeguarding

Pierre Simon NDIAYE is a sociologist by training. He has a decade of professional experience in Senegal in the field of social and economic projects for vulnerable populations. He has acquired his experience by participating in and managing numerous large-scale RAP projects in Senegal, and therefore has a perfect knowledge of relocation procedures and what they represent for the populations. Pierre Simon NDIAYE puts his expertise at the service of national and international institutions, both public and private. As a member of the ORYX team, he supervises work in the field of ESIAs, RAPs, EIAs, ESMPs, socioeconomic studies, etc. He is used to working according to the best international standards such as those of the IFC and the WB, and ensures a follow-up of the deliverables as well as a contribution to the intervention sectors in his fields of competence.

Also a World Bank consultant, he is familiar with multi-donor projects and masters the national procedures and those of the main donors (IFC, WB, AFD, USAID, AECID) in terms of social safeguarding.


Primatologist expert

Patrice is a senior international expert of French-Congolese nationality. With a high level of training (Master's Degree from Havard University, Stony Brook University) and extensive field experience in several Central African countries (Congo, Central African Republic, Gabon, Cameroon, etc.) known to host large primate populations, Patrice is a recognized primatologist.

Through his research experience and his functions within WCS, an organization for which he conducted ecological monitoring for more than 10 years, he has a perfect knowledge of the biology of large mammal species, as well as field data collection techniques specific to these species. As a researcher and having worked for various programs and National Parks in Central Africa, Patrice also has a good understanding of conservation issues.

Within the framework of our studies Patrice carries out the supervision of the works for the medium and large mammals in Central Africa.


Land Expert

Rémi holds a DEA in Urban Planning and Management of Space and Decentralization. He has been working in West Africa for nearly 10 years on issues of territorial planning, land management of rural and environmental development projects. His expertise is proven in the treatment of land issues on projects (ESIA, RAP, etc.), methodology, analysis, etc. ... he has therefore a perfect knowledge of the issue of land and community sharing of uses.

Rémi is an expert in land policy support and institutional support/local development in rural areas. He holds a Master's degree in economic and social administration, a DESS in local government administration and a DEA in urban planning, land management and decentralization.

He has 28 years of professional experience, the first 22 of which were shared between activities within the French Ministry of Equipment, Transport and Housing, as well as cooperation positions in Cameroon, Madagascar and Tunisia on issues related to decentralization and rural land.

He now leads Oryx's activities in the framework of interventions related to land issues and local development/decentralization on the African continent, particularly through evaluation and diagnostic missions of projects or feasibility studies.
