Chiroptera expert
Karsten brings his expertise on the study of chiropterans, for which he has 10 years of professional experience. He intervenes for inventories, scientific monitoring or conservation programs. In the panel of ESIAs to which he has brought his expertise since 2012, Karsten has taken part in infrastructure projects, mining projects, renewable energy projects (wind and photovoltaic) following the different environmental standards in force (NP6 of the IFC, WB, French legislation). His involvement in many studies in Africa has taken him to the Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Morocco and Mauritius, allowing him to be operational in a wide variety of habitats across the continent.
He is in charge of the high level chiropteran studies for Oryx via field data collection, processing, analysis and reporting.
Expert Programmer Data Analyst
Valentin is an Ivorian national and has been working as a Programmer Analyst for more than 12 years. He has participated in the development of input masks, processing requests for ESIAs of dams (Souapiti for Tractebel GDF Suez) & mines (CBG, GAC, SAG) or institutions (Belgian Technical Cooperation).
He has developed geo-spatial databases on the projects, allowing the storage of data and the edition of output sheets, specifying and prioritizing the assets of various individuals, in particular at the level of RAP and PRMS. Accustomed to working with experts from multidisciplinary disciplines, he knows and masters the subtleties related to the elaboration of a household survey, and is able to propose a quality control process (blocking, coding of questions, double-entry, etc.) on paper and/or tablet questionnaires.
Within Oryx, Valentin manages the databases and works with the teams in particular to design advanced monitoring and evaluation systems for projects led by our private and public partners.
Expert Botaniste
Le Professeur Adomou est un botaniste béninois avec près de 25 années d’expériences professionnelles liées aux études botaniques et aux inventaires forestiers au Bénin. Diplômé d’un doctorat en biodiversité – spécialité botanique du Department of Plant sciences, de l’Université de Wageningen (2005), il est aujourd’hui Professeur Titulaire en Botanique et Ecologie Végétale des Universités CAMES. Outre ses travaux de recherche et d’enseignement en botanique, l’ayant conduit à publier de nombreux ouvrages, articles et publications scientifiques, il exerce régulièrement des prestations de services en tant que consultant, mettant ainsi à contribution des inventaires biologiques ses compétences. Il travaille avec l’équipe d’Oryx Expertise depuis 2019, ayant notamment réalisé les études environnementales du projet Porto Novo Ville Verte financé par l’AFD en 2019 et 2020.
Il assure ainsi les études botaniques et la description des habitats, au niveau de la définition des états de références de la biodiversité dans les études d’impact et les plans de gestion de la biodiversité conduits par les équipes d’Oryx.
Sa parfaite connaissance des écosystèmes naturels en Afrique de l’Ouest et sa capacité à encadrer des équipes en font un expert clé pour les inventaires de la biodiversité menés sur le terrain.
