Alseny Diakité is a Mammal and Primate Specialist with over 15 years of experience in Guinea and Central Africa, specializing in the study, monitoring and conservation of chimpanzees and other large mammals within mining, energy and infrastructure projects. He has led numerous field missions involving wildlife inventories, camera-trap deployment and analysis (hundreds of units), line transects and community surveys for Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, ecological diagnostics and Biodiversity Management Plans (Biotope, Oryx Expertise, WCS, Rio Tinto, WCS Simandou, Predictive Discovery, among others). His expertise includes primate population assessments, habitat and ecological corridor identification, analysis of anthropogenic pressures, and the design of mitigation and offset measures, particularly for chimpanzees. Highly experienced in complex operational environments, he demonstrates strong field skills in tropical forest ecosystems, logistical coordination, camera-trap data analysis, and effective collaboration with local communities and stakeholders.
