Expert écologue – primates – camera traps

Alseny Diakité is a Mammal and Primate Specialist with over 15 years of experience in Guinea and Central Africa, specializing in the study, monitoring and conservation of chimpanzees and other large mammals within mining, energy and infrastructure projects. He has led numerous field missions involving wildlife inventories, camera-trap deployment and analysis (hundreds of units), line transects and community surveys for Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, ecological diagnostics and Biodiversity Management Plans (Biotope, Oryx Expertise, WCS, Rio Tinto, WCS Simandou, Predictive Discovery, among others). His expertise includes primate population assessments, habitat and ecological corridor identification, analysis of anthropogenic pressures, and the design of mitigation and offset measures, particularly for chimpanzees. Highly experienced in complex operational environments, he demonstrates strong field skills in tropical forest ecosystems, logistical coordination, camera-trap data analysis, and effective collaboration with local communities and stakeholders.

Ingénieure environnement – biodiversité
Louise MARQUANT is an ecologist with a degree from Sorbonne Sciences University (formerly Pierre and Marie Curie University) and the Institut Supérieur de l'Environnement with a specialized master's degree. She has initial experience in the research field, specifically as a research officer in ecosystem conservation and population dynamics. Louise MARQUANT joined Oryx Expertise in 2025 as an engineer specializing in biodiversity. She works on projects in France and internationally. Within the study office, she carries out environmental assessments as part of project feasibility studies, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), and Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) in accordance with international standards (World Bank, International Finance Corporation) and national regulatory requirements. Within these studies, Louise specializes in understanding the issues (particularly regarding critical habitats) and impacts on the biological environment, as well as in defining the measures envisaged for the application of the Avoid, Reduce, Restore and Offset sequence. She has solid skills in understanding natural environments and ecological diagnostics of a site, as well as some naturalist knowledge of avifauna and herpetofauna.

Expert Environnement milieu biologique
